Doctor J. Mark Bayless

I have always loved working with kids. I started working with kids when I was 15 years old at the city pool in Anaheim. I taught swimming lessons every summer all the way through high school, college, and even during dental school. When I applied to dental school I already knew that I wanted to specialize in pediatric dentistry. I wanted to combine my love for science during the school year with my love for working with kids in the summer.

My goal is to have as much fun as possible in the office and make the children want to come back. I do magic tricks and try to laugh a lot with both the children and the parents. My team makes every effort to place the kids at ease with video games, iPod touches at the chairs, and movies if they need any treatment. Believe it or not, you can have fun in the dental office and I have many kids who can't wait until their next dental appointment!

Doctor Brandi Faia

I was born and raised in Carmel, CA. I am a 4th generation Carmelite and a 3rd generation dentist. I began practicing at the Monterey Peninsula Dental Group in August of 1998 and joined Dr. Bayless as his associate in 2000. I am the proud mother of 2 sons, Ian and Anderson. I enjoy traveling, skiing, snorkeling and most of all being a mom.

Staff

Our staff consists of six wonderful and highly trained individuals. With over 100 years of combined experience, they will provide for you fun and professionalism from the moment you make your first phone call!

Holly - Receptionist and General Anesthesia Coordinator I have worked for Dr. Mark for 16 years and in dentistry since 1975, mostly in pedodontics and oral surgery. My husband is a fire captian and I have 2 grown sons. Outside of work, I spend time with my husband, traveling and enjoying our new home.

Courtney - Receptionist I have worked for the Monterey Peninsula Dental Group since 1998. I graduated from the Monterey Peninsula Dental Assisting program in 1997. I have my x-ray license as well as my registered and certified dental assisting license. I love working with children and watching them grow. Outside of work, I have a 6 year old son named Lucas that keeps me very active with his sports.

Kristin - Financial Coordinator I have worked in the dental field for 26 years. I started in general then moved to oral surgery, but nothing compares to pediatrics. I came to work for Dr. Bayless in 2002 and have enjoyed every day since. The energy level in our practice is amazing. I live in the San Benanco area with my husband of 21 years and our 17 year old son. The great outdoors is our playground for motorcycle riding, swimming, bike riding and long walks on the beach.

Alana - Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Function 2 I have enjoyed working in Dr. Bayless' office for the last 15 years. While working for Dr. Bayless I also attended a 6 month program to become an RDAEF2 to expand my functions as a dental assistant. I currently reside in Aptos with my husband and Chesapeake Bay retriever. In my spare time I love to cook and share my love of fine cuisine with my wonderful coworkers.

Alena - Registered Dental Assistant I have been privileged to be a member of Dr. Bayless' team for 10 years, however I have been an employee of the Monterey Peninsula Dental Group for 18 years. I look forward to spending time with our patients every day. I have 5 children of my own and love watching them grow into young adults. I enjoy being active in the community and taking our 2 dogs for walks in our neighborhood.

Angela - Registered Dental Assistant In November of 2004 I was hired as an RDA for Dr. Bayless, but my true journey started when I was 5 years old. I was very fortunate to have grown up with Dr. Bayless as my pediatric dentist. Somewhere along the way i am sure having such a fabulous dental experience factored into the position I have today. I am honored to be a part of such a magnificent practice and work for such an amazing doctor. I am now 30 years old and have 2 daughters of my own. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my girls and with the love of my life, Shane.
